About Us

Hi, My name is Joe Peterson, and I own/operate Doomsday Diesel, by myself, in the heart of Nebraska, USA. I completed my first OM617 swap in 2012, while in college. After college, I worked as an engineer for several different companies, including trailers and hydraulic cylinders. During this time, I gained invaluable experience in design, machining and welding, as well as how to treat customers. In 2014, I took on a part-time job as a machinist. In 2015, Doomsday Diesel was born!

After paving the way for OM617-Toyota swaps, I began selling conversion parts on the side. I was also raising cattle. In 2018, I sold all my cattle to fund a new shop for Doomsday Diesel. At Thanksgiving 2018, I was laid off from my engineering job with no notice. This happened 6 months prior to my shop being completed. I ended up selling my acreage/house and converting a tiny portion of my shop into living quarters. Doomsday was now a full-time venture. And then some!

Fast-forward to present-day. Doomsday Diesel leads the way in innovations for the OM617, with new parts currently being designed and coming out for the VW TDI and MB OM60x series.

Doomsday Diesel is committed to giving its customers reliable service, while providing the highest quality products, at a very reasonable price. Doomsday Diesel uses state-of-the-art equipment to cut, form, and machine parts. CNC mills, lathes, lasers, water-jets, and press brakes are used in the production of parts. This ensures repeatable, tight-tolerance parts.

All parts are made 100% in the USA with pride!
